Celebrating Somerset Day

Celebrating Somerset Day

Grab yourself some Cheddar Cheese and a pint of Cider - it's time to celebrate Somerset Day! Known widely as the place of contrasts, Somerset is home to stunning beaches, green countryside, woodlands, lakes and hills (not forgetting Glastonbury Festival!). Here are our 3 favourite things to do in Somerset...
1) Cider County
Somerset is home to 400 different varieties of cider apple - making the county a cider-lovers dream! Known as the UK's cider capital, household name brands like Thatchers have been making cider in Somerset for over 100 years.
When incorporating Somerset cider into our Somerset scented products we wanted to not only perfectly capture the scent of an apple orchard, but also the feeling - the feeling of walking through a quiet apple orchard in the middle of the Somerset countryside, sun on your skin, birdsong in the air, the ground strewn with ripe apples.

2) Somerset Walks
One of the UK's largest counties, Somerset is home to some of Britain's most beautiful coastline and countryside walks. Exmoor National Park is the perfect place to discover traditional country pubs (for a pint of Somerset cider of course!), historic churches and catch a glimpse of wild Exmoor Ponies. If you're more coastline than countryside you'll want to try the West Somerset Coast Path which stretches between Minehead and Burnham-on-Sea with breath taking views across the Bristol Channel.

3) Spa Breaks
The only city in the UK to be granted UNESCO status, Bath is home to rich culture, history and of course the most relaxing Roman Baths. The perfect place for a relaxing spa break, whilst also bustling enough to enjoy a day of shopping, dinner and drinks, Bath is certainly up there with our favourite Cities in the UK.
