Bringing the outside in during these uncertain times...

In an attempt not to dwell on the negatives during these crazy and uncertain times, we think it’s now more important than ever to focus on the small things that we can do at home to not only stay calm, but also to remind us that the places we love so much are still out there, and we will never take them for granted again. So, if nothing else but just to cheer ourselves up, here is a roundup of our favourite places to visit in the UK, and the scents we’ll be lighting at home this week to take us there:

the cornwall - rock salt and driftwood

“Inspired by long summer days exploring enchanting Cornish rock pools…”

As our favourite family holiday destination growing up, Cornwall was always full of adventure for us. We’d spend hours and hours exploring rock pools, hunting for crabs, and searching for sea shells. Walking into my bathroom, with a Cornwall reed diffuser on the windowsill, I’m always taken back to those fresh summer days spent with my sisters - sand in our toes, sea salt in our hair - I can get emotional just thinking about it (and this is just day 2 of lock down - I’ll be a wreck in 3 weeks time)!

Our Cornwall products are beautifully fresh and coastal - a mesmerising floral marine scent where refreshing notes of seaweed and green algae lie in cool rock pools livened by a fresh coastal breeze and enhanced by touches of cyclamen and water lily. At the base of the fragrance, sparkling salt-crusted driftwood is warmed by amber, patchouli and musk.

the lakes - freshwater minerals

“Inspired by long walks exploring the lakes, mountains and valleys of the breath-taking Lake District...”

How perfect does a trip to The Lakes sound right now? Long walks in the fresh air, stunning scenery and family time.

We can’t provide the scenery but we feel we have perfectly captured the fragrances of the forests in our Lakes scent - a fresh, earthy accord with a woody, mineral base.

Hampshire Reed Resized.jpg

the hampshire - rosewood and velvet moss

“Inspired by family bike rides exploring the woodlands of the New Forest…”

One of my favourite childhood memories is of a family bike ride through the New Forest, where my little sister and I insisted on hiring a tandem for the two of us. We may have slowed the family down, but I still remember so clearly being obsessed with looking at our bike’s shadow in the sun, and taking it in turns to be ‘the leader’ at the front of the bike.

Our Hampshire products are wonderfully woody and masculine - citrus top notes with pear and armoise lead into a heart of amber, English lavender and jasmine which lie on a base of sandalwood, musk and vanilla.

the norfolk - lavender fields

“Inspired by fragrant fields of Norfolk lavender…”

Growing up with Grandparents in Cromer, I spent many a summer enjoying everything Norfolk had to offer. From crabbing and coastal walks in Wells-Next-The-Sea, to pub lunches and shopping in Sheringham, Norfolk will always hold fond memories for me.

When it came to concocting a Norfolk scent though, it of course had to be inspired by the world-famous Norfolk lavender, which is why our Norfolk scent is a soothing and relaxing blend, containing pure lavender essential oil, reminiscent of a day exploring Norfolk’s famous lavender fields.

Dorset Reed Resized_v2.jpg

the dorset - seaweed and juniper

“Inspired by long walks along the Jurassic Coast, followed by cocktails with friends…”

Having studied at university in Southampton, I used to love nothing more than jumping on the train to Bournemouth for a sunny day chilling on the beach, with a gin and tonic in hand - doesn’t that sound heavenly right now?!

Our Dorset products are beautifully scented with Seaweed and Juniper – a breezy, revitalising blend of ozonic seaside air, seashells and driftwood. Featuring top notes of Sicilian lemon, orange flesh and zesty bergamot, with a heart of juniper, rosemary, tea tree and pine, intermingled with a delicate floral bouquet of jasmine and geranium petals. Soft musks and white cedarwood finish off this refreshing blend.

We could go on, but for the time being we hope we’ve managed to give you a small break from the doom and gloom of the news, and remind you that the places we all know and love are still out there, and enjoying them will feel even sweeter once we’re out the other side of this!

Stay safe,
